Julia Umarova received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory and holds two Master’s degrees in Music Performance, one from the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory and the other from San Diego State University.

 

Julia worked at the D. D. Shostakovich Saint Petersburg Academic Philharmonia for five years, both part-time and full-time, as an orchestra artist. She also served as a concertmaster and was a co-founder of the New Chamber Orchestra.

In 2007, Julia won the Grand Prix at the Glazunov International Competition in Paris, in addition to receiving prizes at other international competitions. She has performed at numerous festivals across Europe, given masterclasses, and served as a jury member at music competitions. Her concert career has taken her to France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Malta, Georgia, Israel, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Croatia, Poland, the United States, China, Portugal, and other countries.

 

Julia’s musical career also includes teaching positions at the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, where she worked as a Teaching Assistant to Professor Mikhail Gantvarg, and at the Harbin Conservatory of Music, where she served as a Senior Lecturer.
