Jessicah Felix
Voice / Piano Instructor

Jessicah Felix is a current student at San Diego State University, pursuing a degree in Musical
Education. Her main study is voice(classical). Jessicah has been singing since she was a child
and started taking professional lessons right out of high school. Jessicah’s passion for music
was passed down from her mother, who always encouraged music in the house. She knew from a young age that she would pursue a career in music, it wasn’t until middle school where she had visited Cal Poly Pomona that she knew that she would teach music. She seeks to continue exploring music and performance to consistently improve her teaching and craft. She works with her professors Dr. Katie Polit, Dr.Karen Koner, Dr.Jenny Gee, Dr.Shannon Kitelinger, and Dr.Ramon Cardenas to gain more knowledge on different approaches to teaching in education, voice, and leading ensembles.

Jessicah has performed with San Diego State University’s University Choir, Treble Choir, and
Symphonic Band. She continues to grow as a musician by taking flute lessons with Professor
Pam Martchev. Jessicah adapts her teaching style to the student’s style of learning. She feels
you can never stop growing as a teacher and continues to seek new perspectives in music
education and efficient healthy ways of singing. Jessicah encourages independence, critical
thinking, and music exploration. Jessicah’s lessons create an environment of fun and growth to create a safe space of learning and exploration in music.
