Erica Schwartz teaches voice lessons and is the director of the San Diego Music Academy Children’s Choir. She is currently in her senior year at San Diego State University, pursuing a degree in Music Education. She is a member of the SDSU Chamber Choir and is currently serving as the Vice President of SDSU’s chapter of CMEA (California Music Education Association). Erica has also received the SDSU Music Education Fellowship for the 2019-2020 school year.
Erica has been taking private vocal lessons since the age of 10 and loves sharing her passion for music and singing with her students. She was also the Soprano Section Leader at St. James-by-the-Sea in La Jolla.
Erica has been actively involved in musical theater all of her life and has been a part of many award-winning choirs throughout middle and high school. She received an NYA award for “Best Supporting Actress” during her time in theater as well as two, “Best Performer” awards during her time in competitive show choir. Since 2014, she has been the assistant director for the musical theater and comedy improv summer camps through the Carlsbad Educational Foundation.
